2 days - Monday &Tuesday April 28 & 29 - This is the basic NCE Gold Card Course. It satisfies minimum NCE education requirements. Topics Include Introductions to: Equity Marketing, Client Counseling, Real Estate Formulas, Property Analysis, Taxation, Terminology. Real estate licensees who join NCE upon class completion are eligible for full NCE member benefits - including retroactive member prices at the conference. This becomes a $200 discount on the individual prices of NCE Dues, Gold Card Class, & Marketing for those who join NCE at that time. Fee includes class materials. This class qualifies for 10 hours DRE credit in Nevada and 14 hours CE credit in Colorado for those who join NCE and achieve the EMS designation.

Real estate licensees who choose to take the NCE Gold Card Course will become eligible for membership in NCE. NCE members in good standing may use the Equity Marketing Specialist (EMS) Designation.
Note: First time Gold Card Class students must complete all portions of the Gold Card Class in order to qualify for NCE membership. So, it is not possible for such students to take any of the Advanced Education offerings at this conference.

Instructor Biographies

Magi Bird, EMS became a real estate licensee in 1978 with extensive real estate dealings before that. She has been the President and Broker of Remcor since 1984. She is the certified National Instructor for the Equity Marketing Specialist designation for NCE and also eaches several continuing education courses in Reno, NV. In addition she holds the CTM, ATM Bronze, Silver & Gold designations with Toastmaster’s International. She brings the best of creative real estate marketing into her large and growing (over 50 agents) brokerage firm through ongoing training of all her agents. Her team makes business happen by creating a comprehensive custom plan of action for each client and by having the skills to implement that plan. In addition to being principal broker of Remcor Real Estate Magi is the principal of Remcor Educational Systems, LLC.

Kandas Myer, EMS, CES is a Real Estate Licensee from Reno, Nevada. She works with Starker Services, Inc., a national qualified 1031 intermediary service. She is a very effective instructor in real estate tax issues. Kandas also holds the CES designation certification from the Federal Exchange Accommodators Association. Kandas has facilitated literally thousands of tax deferrals for clients over the past 7 years.

Ted Blank, SEC, CCIM, EMS is a Real Estate Broker from Colorado. He is Past President of SEC. He worked in banking prior to beginning his real estate career in 1979. He is a member of three national marketing groups SEC, CCIM, and NCE. He teaches the counseling section of our Gold Card Course and a counseling course for the Society of Exchange Counselors Educational Foundation. President of Ted Blank and Associates, Inc of Denver, Colorado has 25 years experience in commercial real estate and note purchasing. He has been a partner of Mr. Muenzberg and an affiliate member of First Amherst Financial Group since 1993. Past experience includes 5 years of commercial bank lending, consulting to banks on REO workouts, and founder of the "National Directory of Lender Owned Real Estate." He has raised investor and debt capital in excess of $20M to acquire discounted bank notes. Mr. Blank currently owns and manages a portfolio of real estate properties in several states. As a member of three national real estate marketing groups, he travels extensively and networks with other professionals around the country. As past President of The Society of Exchange Counselors and winner
of its highest award, he brings a unique level of creativity to the note and real estate business. He teaches a real estate course nationally that has been approved by 13 States for continuing ducation credit..

Ed "Scotty" Scott, EMS is a 30 year real estate investor and licensee. He is a top-producing Realtor® with Remcor He has taught and counseled hundreds of other Realtors®, clients and special interest groups including Financial Planners, lenders and investment clubs

Tom Van Erp, EMS Tom Van Erp, EMS, Principal of V.R.M. Capitol, has spend his life as either a Finance Company executive or a Real Estate broker/ investor. He has been involved professionally and personally in every conceivable type of mortgage deal and provides a wealth of knowledge about buying or selling real estate on owner carry terms.Despite the fact that he is fully engaged lending money he has maintained his broker's license for the past 25 years. He is past president of the Mile High Real Estate Exchangors in Denver and serves currently as President of the National Council of Exchangors. Tom offices out of his Conifer, Colorado, home at 8500 feet elevation. You are warned: the high altitude sometimes makes him do crazy deals!

Thom Bohan, EMS Mr. Bohan earned his Bachelor Degree in 1973 and his Master Degree in 1975. He obtained his Real Estate License in California in 1974 and in Nevada in 1992. Since 1974 Mr. Bohan has specialized in marketing investment real estate through the investment and exchange market place. He has helped many clients build their estates, and reduce their tax liability, and many others liquidate their estate with minimal (if any) tax liability. Mr. Bohan works well with attorneys and CPAs in helping their mutual clients achieve their objectives of estate building and tax-free incomes both for retirement and estate building purposes.
Mr. Bohan has been the recipient of many Multi-Million Dollar production awards, The Most Creative Exchange of the Year Award, Etc., because he always puts his clients and their family’s welfare and objectives first. The sales and exchanges he has engineered have involved properties principally in Southern California, however many have involved properties both outside of the State (10 other states),
and even outside of the USA.
Tom has been deeply involved in professional real estate organizations his entire career, including NAR, CAR, and National Council of Exchangors. He is the Immediate Past President of NCE and is the holder of prestigious Gold Card #001. In addition to being qualified to teach moderating courses, Tom is qualified to teach all aspects of the NCE Gold Card Course and many other subjects.

Charles F. Muenzberg founded First Amherst Financial Group in 1993, which has purchased over 200 bank loans ranging in size from $10,000 to $8M. Acquisitions have totaled $45M plus an additional $38M in charged off loans. Prior to founding First Amherst, Mr. Muenzberg served as Senior Vice President of Major Workouts, & Marketing of Acquired Assets for Hilco, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank of Ireland, New Hampshire's largest commercial bank. During his three years with Hilco, he was responsible for the disposition of over 500 real estate assets throughout New England totaling $300M. He brings over 29 years of banking experience to a transaction. As a banker, he specialized in real estate, both as a lender, and in the workout and foreclosure arena. Additionally, he managed loan origination for American Federal Savings & Loan and First National Bank in Colorado. Mr. Muenzberg has served as a consultant to the American Bankers Association, and has taught real estate finance at the university level.
